- How much does a conversion cost?
HPT to BIN is free and the .bin downloads right here, nothing to pay. Every other conversion runs in the Windows app and is covered by the Pro subscription, with no per-file charge.
- How do I fix “Unsupported or newer version detected” in VCM Editor?
Open the file in the hptbin app, pick the VCM Editor build you run (5.1, 5.2, 5.3 or any version you type in) and it re-stamps the container for that editor. The tune data is preserved bit-for-bit.
- Which tune file formats can I convert?
HP Tuners .hpt (version convert plus export to .bin), EFILive .ctz and .xcal, .vbf, plain Intel .hex, and raw .bin. Drop any of them and the format is detected automatically.
- How accurate are the converters?
Every converter is verified byte-for-byte against real tuning files. A version conversion changes only the container label; the calibration data is untouched.
- What happens to my tune file?
When you convert a file, it is sent to our server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, converted, and the result is returned to you. We do not keep your tune file after the job is finished. Inspecting a file works the same way.
