Terms of use
An independent tool, a plain licence, and one thing we will not soften: what you flash and where you flash it is on you.
Agreement
hptbin.com is an independent toolkit for working with engine-calibration files. By using the site, the converters or anything you buy here, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
Independent tool — no affiliation
hptbin is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to HP Tuners LLC, EFILive, Ford, General Motors, Cummins, Stellantis or any other vehicle, ECU or tooling manufacturer.
Manufacturer names, product names, file extensions and format names are used only to describe compatibility. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Your licence to use the service
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the tools, and to use files you buy on vehicles you own or service.
You may not resell, redistribute, publish, lend or sub-license a file you bought here; share account credentials; scrape or bulk-download the catalogue; or attempt to defeat the access controls, rate limits or encryption that protect it.
Your responsibility for lawful use
You are responsible for what you flash, and where. Modifying emissions-related calibrations on a road-registered vehicle is unlawful in many jurisdictions, including under the US Clean Air Act and equivalent European and Gulf regulations.
Everything offered here is supplied for off-road, competition, research and diagnostic purposes where that is lawful. It is your job to know what is permitted in your country and to comply with it. Nothing on this site is advice that a particular modification is legal for you.
Before you write to a controller
Always read and keep an unmodified backup of the original file before your first write, verify that the OS number and controller match the file, and use a stable power supply. A failed write can leave an ECU unusable, and that risk sits with you.
Accounts
The Windows app is activated with a subscription key we issue to you. The key is tied to one machine, and you are responsible for what happens under it. Do not share it.
We may suspend or cancel a subscription key for payment fraud, chargeback abuse, redistribution of purchased files, sharing the key, or attempts to attack or overload the service.
Availability and changes
The service is provided as it stands. We may add, change, suspend or withdraw any part of it — including individual listings and individual converters — at any time and without notice. We may also update these terms; the date at the foot of this page tells you when they last changed.
No warranty
The tools and the files are provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
Conversions are tested byte-for-byte against reference tooling, but we do not warrant that any conversion, unlock or calibration is correct or suitable for your specific vehicle, controller or use.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, hptbin is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for damage to a vehicle, controller or engine, lost data, lost profit or downtime arising from use of the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the item the claim relates to. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Reporting a problem
If you believe a listing infringes your rights, or you have found a security issue in the service, write to us with the detail and we will act on it quickly.
